The smell of smoke is not the smell of liberty for the innocent third-parties exposed to the smoke. It’s the smell of cancer… You don’t support abortion, which to me, is about my own liberty – because, I assume, it’s harming a “life”. If this smoke is harming a life – a real, live, born child – I’d think you’d want to stop it…
What do you mean by “innocent third parties.” At this lounge, if you voluntarily walk in, you choose to be around smoke. If you stay outside, you are not around smoke.
If your proposition is correct smoking should be banned everywhere at all times. It should be equivalent to a fired weapon. So ban smoking. But until its illegal, and you can choose not to be around it, let people be free. Of course, politicians make too much $ off of cigarette taxes, so they will never be banned. Only taxed to death. Pun intended.
Innocent third-parties – the people who have to walk next to the smelly smoker after they’ve exited the smokers lounge at the airport…. Adults and kids are harmed by this stuff. There’s even evidence that some smoke residue is radioactive. It’s also got a lot of lead in it – which leads to diminished IQ in children… If you’re all for kids being exposed to this stuff whenever and where ever they may encounter it, then I see no reason for you not to support abortion. Both result in one less child in the world – it’s just the one who was born and died due to the smoke will be missed more.
